Project Overview

Reyes Chino, a Philippines-based Internet Service Provider offering managed connectivity services to corporate clients, began evaluating Yifan Communication’s 5G CPE lineup in 2022 before completing deployment in January 2024. NR610 Outdoor 5G ODUs were installed on rooftop poles at McDonald’s outlets in the Philippines, while NR330 Indoor 5G CPE units were deployed inside a retail chain’s warehouse facility — delivering fast 5G-based broadband at sites where fixed-line infrastructure was impractical or slow to deploy.

Challenge

Deploying broadband across retail and food-service sites presented several requirements:

• 🏪 Fast deployment without wired infrastructure: New and existing outlets needed broadband connectivity without waiting for fixed-line installation
• 🌤️ Outdoor durability at McDonald’s rooftops: Equipment mounted outdoors must withstand direct sun, rain, and rooftop heat alongside existing HVAC equipment
• 📶 Reliable indoor coverage at the warehouse: The retail chain’s warehouse facility required stable WiFi coverage inside a metal container-style structure
• 📡 Consistent throughput across carriers: Performance needed to hold up across different Philippine 5G/LTE networks rather than being tied to a single carrier
• 🔧 Corporate-grade reliability: As a managed services provider, Reyes Chino needed equipment with the features and visibility that consumer-grade routers lack for corporate clients

Solution

Reyes Chino paired two Yifan Communication 5G CPE models to match each site’s requirements — an outdoor ODU for McDonald’s rooftops and an indoor CPE for the warehouse.

Yifan Communication NR610 and NR330 were selected for their site-matched form factors and shared 5G performance:

• 5G NR (SA & NSA): Up to 4.67 Gbps downlink / 1.25 Gbps uplink on both models
• NR610: IP67 weatherproof housing, 6× built-in omnidirectional antennas (4×4 MIMO), PoE-powered 2.5 Gigabit LAN, −30°C to +60°C, pole/wall mount
• NR330: WiFi 6 AX3600 (2.4/5 GHz, up to 3.6 Gbps), 2.5 Gigabit WAN/LAN + Gigabit LAN, IP30, 0°C to +45°C, desktop mount
• Dual-SIM / eSIM support: Both models support multiple SIM profiles for carrier flexibility and redundancy
• Site-appropriate mounting: Pole/wall mount for the NR610 outdoor rooftop installation, desktop mount for the NR330 indoor deployment

Measured Performance
